Full or complete dentures are needed when all of the teeth are missing in an arch while removable partial dentures can be used when some natural healthy teeth remain. In some instances an individual may elect to have an immediate denture where the denture is made first and placed at the time of the extraction of the remaining teeth. This procedure eliminates the time of going without teeth, but does usually require more adjustments during the healing process and a need to reline the denture a matter of months after extractions.
